Keep an Eye on Google Buzz for SEO
Google Buzz seems to have done something right, as it has been praised for its search engine optimisation potential online by a web developing company. Since Google’s social network launched last month, it has faced much criticism, but it now seems to be winning people round.
When it comes to SEO, Buzz has proved a useful tool for indexing, keyword research and link building. Google’s social networking platform is competing with Twitter’s real-time search capacity and if it wants to be successful in doing so, then it needs to be crawled regularly by search spiders.
As yet, Google Buzz’s items don’t appear in Google’s real-time search results. This won’t be for long however, as they will soon want to challenge tweets effectively and using Buzz to get new content indexed quickly, will become priority for online companies.
Time sensitive content such as online news, will be posted in Buzz in order to get content indexed faster, which should guarantee more organic traffic from Google.
Google Buzz also comes with a third party application called buzzy.com, which is integrated into the homepage, which can be used for keyword research. SEO has seen an interesting development from Buzz, which does not use ‘nofollow’, meaning links should have more optimising power.
SEO commentator, Tad Chef says of the devleopments: “The nofollowdevelopments attribute backfired for Google as they can’t index most links these days.”
As well as these main SEO benefits, Google Buzz has the potential to make the most of brand building, content creation and multi-platform publishing to add extra SEO boosts to an online brand
